Steve Albis is an entrepreneur and executive who has been involved with buying and selling businesses for over "three decades" – both for himself and others. He was instrumental in the formation of a family owned company that operated five restaurants in Central Virginia. He then became co-founder and vice-president of operations for a Richmond based hospitality ownership and management company that operated lodging businesses in Virginia and North Carolina. His brokerage career began in 1988, when he joined a national commercial real estate brokerage company where he was a leader in the firm’s sales activity of hotel / motel businesses. During this time, top organizations of hotel brokers named Steve as an industry “Top Performer”. Steve then became co-founder of CAS Associates, Inc., a hospitality business brokerage firm, with annual brokerage sales of $25 million, and climbing, and currently serves as the company’s president. In late 2008 Steve was instrumental, with colleagues Spicer and Albis (son), in the formation of Albis & Company, LLC and currently serves as the company’s managing member. Steve serves his community as Treasurer of the Tuckahoe Kiwanis organization and is a licensed real estate broker in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Bob Spicer has an MBA from the University of Virginia. He worked in the hotel industry for 13 years in sales and management positions in several states. Looking to start his own business, he moved back to Williamsburg, Virginia and opened a business brokerage company. That experience led to an offer to join a national commercial real estate brokerage company where he worked primarily with sales of hotels, motels and restaurants. He also became active in helping to arrange financing for business buyers.

After over ten years with this firm and several hundred sales, Bob left to join a new real estate firm, CAS Associates, partnered with Steve Albis, a former colleague. Based in Richmond, CAS Associates is a hospitality business brokerage firm with annual brokerage sales of $25 million. Together again with Albis, Bob helped form Albis and Company LLC in 2008 to expand our brokerage success to include all small and mid-sized businesses. Albis & Company is ready to use the substantial experience of its partners to help all business owners and buyers achieve their goals. Bob holds an active Virginia Brokers License.

Stephen Albis received his Bachelor degree in Urban Land Development and Real Estate from Virginia Commonwealth University. He began his business career with CAS Associates, Inc. where he gained hands-on experience in sales and negotiations and was instrumental in implementing the company’s’ sales and marketing plans. Stephen brings a strong work ethic and an eagerness to build solid relationships with his clients. Stephen is a member of the Tuckahoe Kiwanis organization, holds an active Virginia Real Estate License and serves as Notary for the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Albis and Company welcomes the newest addition to our staff — Matt Bernheart. Matt will work as an Analyst and Sales Assistant. He’ll be responsible for market research, helping with business valuations and the development of client marketing materials. Matt has a Bachelors of Science Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Matt holds an active Virginia Real Estate License.
